Here are some of the best resources out there.

  • When You Feel Alone

First and foremost, you have to muster up the will to reach out to someone close to you and let them know that you need emotional support. Make sure they have space for you to freely share what is weighing on your mind and heart.

If talking to someone directly is not your thing or you may not have someone you know you can trust and share with, a temporary outlet for you can be journaling. Be mindful that I said temporary because it is most ideal that you be able to speak and voice out concerns rather than bottling them up and not confronting them in a healthy manner. By being able to do these things, you will be able to understand your emotions a bit better and become more self aware of what needs you have to be filled.

  • When You Need Inspiration

Do something new. Hobbies are essential to our wellbeing. Hobbies have been replaced with scrolling and watching our screens. I’d be a hypocrite to say that I haven’t fallen into this norm. Yet the pandemic allowed me to find new ways to fill in my time, finally picking up and peeling away my guitar’s cover and actually learning cords and playing it most nights during the summer. That was just one of the hobbies that brought a lot of peace and solace during those times.

The summer of 2022 I made a list. That list had things I wanted to do by myself and that I felt will bring me a new found inspiration to enjoy life with intention. This list included a solo overnight trip to Boston, I had been putting it off for the longest and I was able to cross it off finally last summer. Another thing that I crossed off that list was an archery class. Being physically able to do something new is a blessing that can present to you new found joy you didn’t know could exist. Remember, everyone has to start somewhere.

  • When You Feel Lost

Think about what you want right now. Then think about what you want later then you can access it. When you break this down it helps you understand why those feeling come about, where they originated from. It’s east to get so monotonous about ones own life sometimes when we think we have no options besides the ones present. Yet sometimes we need reminders that we can literally shift our life by simply changing small things first which lead to bigger things eventually or as quickly as we want. There is always a way to find yourself in the nothing or in the crowdedness of life’s feelings. Thoughts, small actions, over time drive change for you to be sure you were never lost to begin with you just lacked clarify of definitive purpose.

  • Podcasts for a Better You

Honestly, when it comes to who you are listening to it will either make you or break you. When you look at parents and children, do yo think a kid that is only put down and not given any affirmation by the adults around them will prosper? No. Same goes for you, people, family, your boss, friends, and yourself (who you are always with) do take a toll on how you are processing information and acting on said information. To be frank, gossip serves you in no way, so why are you keeping up with celebrities and know who’s dating who and who cheated on who and why they broke up. It does not affect you in any way because they are not active in your life. All of that goes to say, you should be listening to people who are teaching you to be better and engaging your mind in ways you did not even know they could. When you control who has input in your life, with those boundaries your are establishing you will be able to not only direct your purpose but clearly define your goals. I personally listen to people that I admire and look up to for their work ethic and the things that have been able or are working to accomplish.

Here are some of my personal recommendations:

  • Music for a Better you

I am definitely that person when you pass the AUX cord to is one that will put on some sad music and talk about the fact that it is a vibe. It most certainly is a vibe, a sad one. Which is okay and has a time and place but when you are working towards putting your mood up, be aware that that type of music may be contributing to your low energy levels. A couple things that I do when I need to get myself more energized is play either classical music (Studio Ghibli mood usually), Lo-fi, or exciting pop or reggaeton music. Definitely a range but my go to is always classical — it just does something to your brain and you focus much more!

I will be sure to share playlists soon.

  • Financial Literacy

Like many, I was not raised in the most financially secure household. And I’ll be real, finances is still something I have to educate myself constantly on because it is ever changing and a real discipline that one has to master. Overall I do not think I would have made it through most of my adult years without understanding how to budget and knowing where all of the money that comes in goes out to, I owe that thorough breakdown and understanding to my mentors. There are so many things when it comes down to money and this is why many people choose to ignore it until they are so deep in debt thinking it will eventually resolve itself and disappear, which that won’t happen. Money, when you really break it down is a unique puzzle that you need to put together.

I will be sharing more in a blog post about this, where I started, where I suggest you should go with this as well for reliable resources.

  • Relationships

As this is something I am still navigating, this will be an ongoing topic. From the books and podcasts I have shared, those are great ways to start navigating where you are and who you are in relation to the relationships you have cultivated up to this point in your life. This is an ongoing journey; you will never stop learning about people and how to better yourself. The sooner you accept that as a fact, the better your ability to make yourself aware of who you can be in the relationships you have and will create in your life.

I will be posting more about this in my blogs as the journey continues.

  • Travel

This topic is something I have just begun to navigate more, especially since late last year, but I will be sharing as much as possible. This will serve as a guide for those who have not been to certain places or need some unfiltered perspective from a reliable source. Of course, you are free to take everything with a grain of salt, but there are many things that I don't see people discussing on social media that would have been useful for me to know when I traveled to certain places for the first time. This section will be a guide to specific destinations to help people avoid feeling overwhelmed or having their trip ruined simply because they were thrown into unfamiliar territory.

I will be sharing more on this topic soon.
